With over 45,000 square feet of floor space Smith Fastener Co.’s finished inventory is quite impressive. We have a full line of bolts, nuts, washers, rods - studs, and screws making our fill rate on all orders very high. We can tailor programs to fit our customer’s needs rather than force fitting a business design that may or may not work.

Traditional Fill & Ship Orders :

All day − every day we fill and ship across our region and beyond. Our truck fleet will deliver approximately 60%
and the balance is served by UPS, UPS Next Day, Fedex, and commercial carriers. When requested, same
day shipping will be made to meet customer needs.

Vendor Managed Inventory Programs :

We have many customers utilizing our V.M.I. programs. By using barcode technology on customer bin labels
we can help keep dollars invested in inventory to the lowest level possible. Our internal system tracks
monthly usage and we share this information with you. To drive down total costs we can suggest and follow
min/max levels printed on each individual label.

Fastener Tracing :

Every item received is assigned a "tag number". Items of Grade 5 and higher are also given the
manufacturer’s lot control number. Both numbers stay with the part until all quantities are relieved from
inventory and then they become accessible permanent history. Tag and Lot Control numbers are printed on
packing slips and invoices for future reference should quality issues arise at a later date.

Bagging/Packaging :

In late 2005 we purchased an automated packaging machine that we utilize in several areas. We are able to
custom bag or box to customer specifications. Nuts, Flat Washers, Lock Washers, and Bolts can be bagged
to specific quantities and placed in weather proof containers for shipment to job sites.

Custom Totes/Assemblies :

Utilizing our bagging system, we can bag specific quantities of many fastener types and place in secure hard
plastic totes that go straight to the manufacturing cell. Trips to the storeroom and valuable man hours used
to count items can be drastically reduced in many cases. Perhaps there is a potential application for your
business.
