VENDOR MANAGED INVENTORIES

All segments of industry have looked for ways to reduce overall costs.  One of the most popular trends in industrial distribution is for suppliers to take an active role in the management of the items they furnish.  Proper tools within our operating system give us state of the art technology to accomplish this task.

  • LABELS: We have the capability of customizing bin labels to provide bar codes and human readable descriptions of all items.  Labels can be printed showing size and description, customer part numbers, bin location, min/max quantities and contract line item numbers.

  • BINS: Many customers already own suitable bins or shelving units, but for those needing new startup or additional units, we have a variety of sizes and styles from several manufacturers.

  • INVENTORY: One of our primary goals is to indentify the items of high usage for managed inventory systems.  Thorough investigation of parts being used leads to an inventory that will turn many times during a year.

  • SCANNING: By using INTERMEC hand held scanners, our sales people can create instant orders to be downloaded into our system.  This procedure eliminates the possibility of key stroke errors so common in order entry.

  • HISTORY: Our system provides a number of usage reports that allows us and the customer to monitor item activity.   For customers with multiple locations we track dollar sales to each location as well as individual item usage at each location.
